The QFHSA’s Children’s Literacy Resource Guide is moving online! First developed in 2005 by Marion Daigle and Dorothy Nixon, members of the QFHSA, the guide is filled with information from experts in their fields—researchers, academics, teachers, librarians, and many others. The QFHSA is grateful to the Department of Canadian Heritage for providing funding for this project through the support for Official Language Communities Program, Community Life Component.
How to Use this Guide:
Created in an easy-to-print pdf format, the information is divided into four themes:
- Reading and Writing
- STEAM (Integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math)
- Parental Involvement
- Community and Library
This resource guide is meant to be shared. Local Home & School Associations, teachers, parents, libraries, and community groups are all invited to use (and share) the pages widely. Help us to continue the work begun by Marion Daigle and Dorothy Nixon to foster a love of reading, learning, and exploration.
