The QFHSA organizes many events throughout the year, often with other organizations, to inform, learn, speak and listen:
- TEACHER/STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK: Feb 10-16, 2008
Encouraged in every school and supported by the QFHSA with ideas, materials and means to celebrate the important role that teachers play in the lives of our children.

- Literacy in the Information Age:
- Assistance is provided to help communities assess their literacy needs
- Children's Literacy Resource Guide (Fall of 2005)
The resource guide is a book with more than 100 pages for children ages 0 to 16.. The guide is divided into 8 sections: Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Media, Community, Parental Involvement and Library. Additions, since original printing, include Aboriginal People, Sex Education, Kindergarten Readiness.
Now also available on CD.
Cost $20 (either hard copy or CD), includes shipping cost.
- Fall Leadership Conference:
Includes workshops of interest to Home and Schoolers and other members of the community.
- School Visits
A knowledgeable, informed, Home & Schooler can visit your school, if requested. They can explain what we are all about, services we offer, and answer any questions you may have.
