From Farm to Fork Competition 2016

 

General Information

  • Competition is open to Cycle 3 (Grades 5 and 6) students as well as Secondary 1 and 2 students (Grade 7 and 8).

  • Cycle 3 essays are to be 250 words, Secondary 1 and 2 are to be 450 words.

  • Submission and recipes are to be typed (Word document) and should be sent by the teachers to QFHSA office or by the Home and School Association.

  • Essays and recipes are also to be submitted electronically to: fromfarmtofork@qfhsa.org

  • Competition commences on February 1, 2016.

  • Competition will close and all submissions are to be in by March 4, 2016.

  • Winners will be announced on March 18, 2016.

  • Prizes:

    • 1st Prize Winners will receive a $100.00 Chapters gift certificate plus a $100.00 Chapters Gift Certificate will be presented to the classroom of the winner for the purchase of books.

    • 2nd Prize Winners will receive $50.00 Chapters gift certificate plus a $50.00 Chapters Gift Certificate will be presented to the classroom of the winner for the purchase of books.

    • The winning submissions will be printed in the SUMMER issue of the QFHSA NEWS and posted to the QFHSA website.

  • All entrants will receive a “Certificate of Participation” from QFHSA.

  • Depending on the number of essays submitted, a collection of selected essays may be published and a complimentary copy would be sent to the author of every essay included in the collection and an additional copy  for the participating school library.

  •  Registration forms are required to include the following information:

    • Name of School
    • Name of Teacher and subject (History, Science, English Language Arts, Culture)
    • Contact information of teacher
    • Name and mailing address of student
    • Age
    • Grade
    • Classroom number
