Online Donations

For the last few years, QFHSA has been offering a service to our Home and Schools: the option of having their association listed under our CanadaHelps account as a designated fund. This enables Home and School members to make online donations to their local association through one site. So far, four (4) local associations have taken advantage of this service, but there is room for more! The advantage to members is that CanadaHelps issues the charitable tax receipt immediately, minus a 3.9% administration fee.

How it works: A member decides to make a donation to their Home and School association and goes to the www.qfhsa.org site and clicks on the Donate now button. Once on the site, they select the fund to which they wish to make a contribution and enter an amount. (The minimum donation that can be made through CanadaHelps is $3.90) Once complete, they will receive an acknowledgement from CanadaHelps and the charitable tax receipt, electronically. A message of thanks will be sent as well from QFHSA on behalf of the member association.

In the meantime, QFHSA tracks the donations made to each fund, and at the end of each month, issues a cheque to the respective Home and School Association for the amount deposited in our bank account by CanadaHelps.

This is an excellent option for members who wish to support their local association but don’t have the time to sell fundraising items or participate in the majority of events. If you would like to have this option available in your Home and School, bring it up at the next Home and School meeting and then have someone contact us.
