Literacy

Literacy in the Information Age Projects: Mandate:

  • To promote awareness of the requirements for literacy in the information age, especially directed toward children and youth.
  • To mobilize school and community volunteer resources to advocate and deliver programs for prevention and remediation of illiteracy.
  • To work in partnership with all sectors of the community to promote literacy through the formation of literacy exchanges.

Background:

The project originated with the Canadian Home and School Federation in 1989-1990 as part of the celebration of the International Year of Literacy. QFHSA's partnership with English language literacy organizations is an important link in our educational network.
